Elsie's DWR

A traditional Double Wedding Ring, paper pieced via Judy Niermeyer...very precise piecing and pressing by Elsie. Credit is given to quilting designs in the captions which include Judy Allen, Anita Shakelford, and Moi. Enjoy the pictures and thank you for looking. NOTE: out-takes include one triangle feather is backwards, and the flying geese embellishment switches direction. Can you find them?

Dotty's Applique

Dotty hand pieced/appliqued this whole quilt. She wanted something traditional looking. I created little motifs for inside the applique with matching thread so it doesn't distract from the applique. Crosshatching and beadboard borders give it a very traditional look. Oh, and the feathered wreaths in the centers add a little touch of vintage flavor.

Test Applique Project

Sometimes I like to put together a project similar to a real quilt just to play, experiment, and try new motifs and techniques. This is one of those projects. The base layer is Warm and Natural with a request layer of poly on top. Hopefully this will yield more definition in the quilting.
