Five Towns Brewery operates in the garden of the end terrace house in centre picture. The chippie is a good landmark for finding your way there.
Here's the brewhouse - proprietor Malcolm Bastow is actually dashing through the rain back into his house.
Brewhouse interior: from the left, copper, mash tun then hot liquor tank, all standard Porter Brewing equipment. Behind the diamond glazed panel and block wall is the fermenting room.
Malcolm relates how he set up his brewery to (extreme left) Pat Wallis, Albert Bradbury and, right, June Bradbury.
hmmm
the copper
paraflo (heat exchanger) which cools the wort after boiling and recovers that heat for the next brewing session as warmed water in the insulated hot liquor tank.
fermenting vessels (in the little room behind the diamond glazed screen and block wall)
The sect-o-cutor will zap any little flies that can turn a brew to vinegar.

Malcolm's first CAMRA commemorative certificate is preseted to him by a proudly smiling Brewery Liaison Officer, George Denton.
