Keith Simpson, the marketing half of the partnership, finds himself very busy organizing, equipping and factoring beer festivals for local pubs, including the Wheatsheaf at Burn and the George & Dragon at West Haddlesey.
It was such a perfect afternoon, weatherwise, that everyone who'd been invited must have turned up, drinking the bar dry! Fortunately, as the cool store was just a step away, emergency supplies were “draughted” in!

The George & Dragon at West Haddlesey is one of the two outlets for Brown Cow beers, called at by Wakefield CAMRA on their return journey. A house beer called Simpson & Simpson White Dragon 4%, a pale aromatic beer with a zesty finish, is brewed for the pub by Brown Cow.

Well, Wakefield CAMRA didn’t exactly come the most direct way to Selby. They went via Brighouse. The Black Swan pub in the foreground stood in as brewery tap for the recently opened Atlas Mill Brewery, pending the opening of the brewery’s own bar, the Tip Inn on Atlas Mill Road, occupying the ground floor of the brewery premises, next door to the town’s recycling centre. The giant silos are what's left of Sugden's flour mill.
