Arai Cycle Racing Club (Aizu rides)
Training round Aizu, Fukushima, Japan in summer 2009 with Arai Racing Club. They are based in Saitama, northern Tokyo and always welcome new members for testing but very friendly riding. The usual pattern is fast pace chain-ganging on the flat, with the odd hotspot sprint, and every climb attacked competetively, but re-grouping at the top and bottom so slower riders don't get left behind. Short breaks at combinis every 1-2 hours, with a lunch stop on longer rides. Sociable hard riding, everyone looked after, with no joining fee or rules. Great!
