pure peat will not decompose - so don't mix in anything , here the shedded foliage are blown away in late autum (roxieanum's)
in a hot/dry spell the dry top layer will work as an insulation the 18.1 C is mess. at 15 cm depth , 49.3 C is foliages temp.
the fraction o.5 - 1.0 cm mixed with 30% perlite works very well for rooting cuttings - observe the media is not very wet!
Here we pay a lots of taxes - but have some bennefits , just call 911 and this will happen (and have a sixpack ready)

In late 2005 ,15 seed grains from op Baby Dane was put out here in an 5 x 5 cm pattern - unprotected , in full morning sun from 4.30 to 9 a'clock - here late April 2007
Here primo September 2007 - no fertilizer added but 300 mm precipitation in 6 weeks
Medio May 2008. First flowers after 2 years and 8 months! No fertilizer or extra water added.
Ultimo August 2008 - selfsown fortunei start to pop up!
