xiandu
leaving sh for what is here called "wu yi", five one, meaning international workers´ day, is usually a hassle. millions and millions more chinese travel during this week long holiday, turning every train, plain, bus, and tourist worthy spot to a living hell. despite this, we went with a few friends to a small place called xiandu in zhejiang province, some 7 hours by slow train from shanghai. there were mountains and a river, old villages and fields of beans and bamboo. in short, a GREAT place! ps, thanks daisy for being the inofficial "guide", trip would have been half as fun without you :)
