Two good "Irwin, PA" emblems.
'62 Gaucho on car trailer beside the '61 FK in the driveway.
Front of Bargman is OK. Rear missing.
This is the only original cabinet. Lots of pink painted plywood and the side of the other dinette seat also found.
Rear of Bargman.
Jeep full of windows, door, trim. Siding was placed inside the trailer for transport.
Scotty with temporary light bar ready to roll.
Added some thin paneling to keep stuff in the trailer.
At a Maryland rest stop.
Windows...lots of broken glass, etc. Also an extra two windows, one of which had been installed and will be again.
Parts...
Resting in a friends' 1865 barn corn crib where reconstruction will take place.
Futon frame to be removed!
Futon frame removed. Much better!
Removing staples from siding and taking inventory. It is not too bad.
Ouch! Gotta get creative here. This is the rear roof section, passenger side.
I think the siding will fit!
Siding stored safely until install.
Completed overhead cabinet (for above "kitchen cabinet"). I took cues from Serro, but the design is original.
Bedside cabinet.
"Kitchen" cabinet. Added a door and shelf where the ice box or fridge would have been. Tried to use as much of the original structure as possible.
Pink paint over the original Scotty splatter paint on this side.
I towed the trailer home from the barn where I was completing work with my old Corvair van. I knew it would be easier to build the drop down floor and make other adjustments in my own driveway.
Drop down floor taking shape. This is a fine dance because it needs to fit tightly...but if it is too tight, it will not fall into position.
I had to trim all of the window, door, and vent openings except the ones for the front and rear windows. All of them were too small and no where near square.
Drop down floor dry fit. It is coming along!
After marking some important measurements, time to screw and glue it all together!
Bed side cabinet in place. Fits well!
Kitchen cabinet in place with overhead cabinet just laying there.
Seeing how the dinette structure fits in here. This is an original piece. I had to make the supports for the passenger side dinette seat.
The '62 Scotty in Rob and Carol's driveway, scuffed and getting close to completion.
And the "Street side" scuffed and looking good. Water and electrical inlet covers are on but "dummies" currently. Electric will be added later; water won't.
Ben installs hinges on the "Scotty potty" access door.
Rob installs curtain rods with shims.
Railroad curtains tie everything together. Good job hanging those rods, Rob!
Look how pretty!
Rob and Carol's '62 on its first recent campout- Kampers near Knoebels X at Indian Head Campground, Bloomsburg, PA.
Looking good among the trees at Kampers near Knoebels.
