On the Mayflower...Ok, it's not the original but it was still pretty cool!
"Where's the rock?" We traveled clear accross the country to see Plymouth Rock and there isn't a rock. There's no such thing! The history books are wrong. We've been mislead all our lives.
It was fun to visit Plymouth Plantation where the employees are really actors dressing and acting like the early colonists. They spoke in the same manner, the same time frame, and actually set up homes as if there were really living there on a daily basis complete with animals and gardens. It was like we were transported back in time...
We ran into Grant (Becky's youngest brother) and his family - Melanie, Ellie, and Claire. Looks like they had the same idea. Quite a coincidence!
I don't think Becky could have survived living back in the 1600's. They actually had to cook and sew by hand. This wonderful lady was willing to share her chores with Becky.
Nope! Definitely not!
Even though a cold, windy storm moved through we decided to walk "The Freedom Trail" to see the historical sights of Boston. Burr!
We climbed the 294 spiral stairs to reach the top of the Bunker Hill monument. It wasn't the stairs that killed us - it was the altitude!
The view of Boston from the top of Bunker Hill.
Just having a little fun,,,
What a clown!
Inside the Old North Church
The Boston Commons City Park
All the trees, shrubs, and flowers were starting to bloom. Wow! The landscape is sure different than we are use to. We didn't see a single cactus all week.
We returned to Mark's house in Rhode Island where he tried to share his love for repitilian creatures with us.
...and what's this one's name?
Claire was more than willing to be brave.
Elle was pleading with her Dad to let her take one home. This one would fit in a box quite nicely.
