Parliament Building in Ottawa
Inside the parliament building
Skating on the Rideau Canal = Winterlude!
Michelle and I (with my camera precariously perched on a mound of snow :) )
Entertainment at the canal
Laurier Avenue Bridge
dodgy (and photoshopped (some kids skated in front just as the pic was taken!)) pic of me on the canal
The War Memorial in Ottawa. I've seen a few monuments like this in the last year, with snow on them. It actually gives a whole new meaning to them for me: it makes me think of some of the horrific weather many soldiers encountered, in terrible conditions
Dog-sledding at Rideau Hall (the Governer-General's residence) - I just watched :)
Maple taffy! They pour it onto some snow and you put a stick (like a paddle pop stick) into one end of it and roll it along the taffy until it's all on the stick - yum!
Rideau Hall
Me on the oldest purpose built, continuously in use skating rink in Canada (possibly North America)!
This made me think of a classic novel/film: can you guess which one?
An ice sculpture recreation of the Menin Gate (the WWI memorial in Ypres, Belgium)
How touristy are we! Emily and me at Winterlude
