A crowd gathers to witness the opening of the St. Stanislaus High School time capsule, which has been stored in the cornerstone of the building since 1951.
Fr. Bill removes the lid of the time capsule.
The first item from the capsule is a newspaper from 1951, including an article about the Bishop's planned attendance at the blessing of the cornerstone at St. Stan's, as well as two other parishes in the diocese
Fr. Bill uncovers the bill for construction of the High School Building (paid, thankfully!), which amounted to just over $400,000.
Fr. Bill opens a scroll containing a list of Parish Organizations at St. Stan's at the time of the construction of the High School Building. Another scroll contained the names of the 23 Felician Sisters that made up the faculty of St. Stanislaus High School. The combined salary of the school staff was $11,000.
The demolition site has been mostly cleared, and work is quickly wrapping up on the removal of the sub-building structure.
