Toward the Cirque of Jaafar; almost highway-like dirt road soon turns into a “piste”, hardly passable even by “qat-qat” (4WD in Berber French).

The Atlas cedar is native to the Atlas and Rif Mountains. It is variously treated as a variety or subspecies of Lebanon cedar.
On the way to the Berber village of Imilchil, our starting point to the lakes Islit (the bride) and Tislit (the groom).
Morning scene at the Lake Tislit – no trout inhabit the lake, so we moved on toward the Lake Islit famous by its green trout.
Lake Islit is located about 10 km away from Tislit at the elevation of 2281 m. It is well protected from tourists as no decent road leads to the lake. According to the local Berbers, the trout come to the shallow water only in October.
While searching for trout in Bouchia valley, Saša got “lost” in marihuana fields.

Local boys helped us collecting samples. Dh 20 per fish was a good stimulation.
Due to heavy fall of rain during the night, the Dades River was to muddy to be fished, so we continued our way to Imilchi again, this time via 3000 m high Tizi-n-Ouano mountain pass.
