We've arrived! Sea-Tac Marriott Hotel
Pike's Market. This place is amazing. Just rows and rows of food and flower filled booths. Wish this was SMELL-a-VISION!
Talk about King Salmon! these guys were huge! i only got to see 2 fish thrown but it was fun.
MAN! this is the place for flowers. huge bouquets for 5.00. i've never seen prettier flowers. the colors were so rich!
the only thing prettier than the flowers were the fruit. everything was huge and looked delicious.
in seattle, fish and chips are a must! sprinkle of malt vinegar and voila--perfection!
what a beautiful city! everywhere we looked there was stuff going on in the water. sailboats, parasailing, cruise ships and planes landing!
one of the must stops at the pikes market was a bakery. the chocolate crinkle cookie was so yum!
Lani, Kelly and I flew to Seattle for less than 24hrs to see Shrek the Musical. it's going to be a MONSTER hit!
we loved the afternoon show so much that lani offered to buy tickets to see the evening performance too! she raced to get them after the show.
Chris Seiber plays Lord Farquaad. We thought he was funny in spamalot, but he plays the entire show on his knees at lord farquaad. he was hilarious!!!! short in stauture, but HUGE in personality.
Chester Gregory plays Donkey. his singing and dancing was so fun to watch! it's amazing what he can do in hooves!
John Tartaglia plays Pinocchio and the magic mirror. we fell in love with him in avenue Q. he's a talented puppeteer and was our favorite to talk to after the shows. he spent time with every single person and was so sweet.
we just borrowed these posters from the fan next to us in line. he was a huge broadway fan and sees all shows in preview. LUCKY!
no i didn't feel awkward doing this move on a busy downtown street. this was how i felt, so i was happy to stand with my arms outstretched. if i would have known the music and dance moves i would have done those too!
Keaton Whittaker is Young Fiona. i was blown away by the young girls voices.
in between shows we raced to the top of the space needle. talk about squeezing in activities.
when i was little i remember this being sooooo tall. next to the other bldgs it's pretty short. but the glass elevator ride up is fun.
can you see the plane getting ready to land? that was the coolest part about being at the top was seeing the planes come right in front of you and then land in the water.
the right side you and see the baseball and football stadiums. in the far distant you can see mt. rainier. that was beautiful to fly over!
the top of the needle is either too much shade or too much light for a photo, so this was the best we could get.
such a great city. we were lucky enough to have perfect rain free weather. what are the odds?
these people just cruise around in their planes, land them in the water, then float up to their houseboat. what a life!
it's all about the food! we ate our way around seattle and rock bottom brewery did NOT disapoint. the beer battered onion rings were so yum!
yes, it's nighttime now and we are back at the theater again! we are broadway ogre-achievers.
Miss Sutton Foster! next to Kristin Chenoweth, sutton is my girl. can you see my hands in the left side of the photo? i was sooooo excited to meet her.
lani and i couldn't have been happier! she was very sweet but after two shows in one day seemed ready to go home and sleep. what i wouldn't give to sing and dance like her!!
Marissa ODonnell, Keaton Whittaker and Lean Greenhaus the 3 young fionas. can't wait to follow these girls careers. i'm sure they'll be winning tony awards in no time!
FINALLY!!!! Brian D'arcy James is Shrek. his costume takes 2.5 hrs to put on and forever to take off, so we waited for over an hour at night in a smelly gargbage filled alley (smelled like a swamp) for shrek to come out.
When we got the photo with Brian we felt our photo collection was complete. we could go home now. life is good! thanks shrek!
yes TWO! we saw the afternooon AND evening show. what a great trip. after a very long but totally awesome day, i crashed on those pillows behind me!
Aren't the shirts adorable? couldn't grab a better souvenier. it helps the kids are adorable too!
