(camera phone) there we are, the first 7. No chairs yet, we bought those later at the Blokker for 10 euros each.
Smileeeee....now we have chairs :)
An inside joke...
What the hell are those people doing?
So, you guys are seriously waiting for the iPhone until midnight??? He actually stayed until the very end and got his iphone in the third round.
So, you have been sitting here since 9:30? Wow!
There they are, the real heroes. Number one in the blue jacket, number two with the red tee, me, with the black jacket and long hair at three and so on.
See, we are number three and four!!! We made our own counting system, luckily t-mobile respected this later on and we actually got the number on our wrist which was on our hands!!
Everyone loves to watch monkeys...a lot of people calling us crazy, actually to our faces.
Another one looking in shock and awe.
Some try to make a picture from a distance. This shot is made with my telelens, so you can imagine how small I am going to be on his picture.
The group from a higher perspective. The dude sitting in my chair (third from the right) is the first Marrocan to get an iPhone in NL. He also been on several websites for wearing womens flip flops and having a leather bag.
More and more people are showing up.
The sign helps us a lot, people keep asking why the hell we are sitting in front of the store.
And then we were moved to a new line, luckily we were still able to use the numbers on our hands.
There we are, in line. This is about 50 people waiting.
Ofcourse you don't want to have a Vodafone booth in the midst of a T-mobile iPhone launch, so it was being covered, including the guy still inside.
And then it rained...
And then it got a lot more busy...about 70 people per row, already 4 rows filled.
And it rained some more, and t-mobile handed out pink umbrellas and crap ponchos.
About 19:00 and probably around ±300 people waiting.
Another angle...
And another angle...
Yay, the sign saying: "Start saile of the first 500 iphones 11 july 00:00 hour."
Even more people, the line is getting kinda full...
A girl showing off her old iPhone Classic. A lot of people socializing and having fun.
Contrast between people in the line. Fashion girl next to comic book guy.
That is me and Robin. Having loads of space in front of the line. Although number 10 till 50 were shaded against the rain under the roof there. We weren't.
"So you really were here at 9:30??? Well congratulations!"
Interview by the national television news broadcaster, the NOS. Watch the report here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjfKhNPdAnQ
Building up, and "heavy" security.
A second line was formed across the street. Also a camera crew showed up (on the left) of One More Thing.nl
They made a sign, finally we knew why where standing there.
see! see! I am getting my wrist band (and I actually made a picture of it!)
And w'ere in!!! We signed a contract, and now the waiting starts (about 21:45)
Hardcore iphoners waiting
People signing contract and picking colors, sizes and contracts.
Still loads of people outside, note that people didn't move in the line, they just opened a new gate. So only about 50 people inside at this point (around 22:10)
They are waiting... Police and security started becoming tight. (note fashion girl in the bottom right, she was in the second row near the middle)
Omigod line...
Oh dear...this is the second line. You can see the sign...on the right side far far away.
"So, where is the store?" the left guy asks, the right one explains: "Ya about 100 meters down".
And then they stopped allowing me to go outside the fence, so some lucky shots. Its starting to be dark now. Around 22:30
We are still having fun, see that is number 2 and number 7 playing with his old iphone.
Number one talking to the big T-mobile boss. CEO of T-Mobile netherlands being very genuinely interested and he actually has a picture of the first 10 on his 3G iPhone. He has a BLACK 16GB btw!
First 5 from 1 on the left side to number 5 on the right side...
And now with the flash aimed for more light :) Number one (on the left) to number five (on the right)
It's DJ's playing their funky tunes on iPhones!!!
More DJ's....
SMILE! for the camera. The group with the low numbers sticks close to each other! (note the numbers on the hands)
Low shutter speed (no tripod) but a pink Nintendo DS and a pink t-mobile tree. Too bad now pink iPhone right?
iPhone contract being signed. Guy on the right (Niels) asks: "So, the iPhone is better then my Nokia right?" P.s. Freaky puppets in the background...brrr
Signing a contract, and the big coordinator from T-mobile head office in the back.
KPN loves attention and tried to sneak some away using these promoters and their Samsung sliding phones and handing out some cokes. The phone on his head has a LCD TV in it. They were politely asked to fuck off, KPN are sore losers!!!
Poor people are still waiting, line 1 and 2 are now clear. Estimated 200 people in!
Another shot, one more line cleared.
You remember him? He was so surprised we were waiting, now he is so proud he is number 19 :)
Number 253 just checked in at 22:30
Please copy your ID and bankcard.
It's me making a photo of a screen!!!
Party pics!!! Number 8 and 12 with their Onemorething tees. Their headphones were handed out after 23:00 because of sound restrictions.
People are starting to gather up.
Some stress over at the signing desks.
These folks are still waiting in the line.
Number 361 at 23:40. 20 minutes to go for everything to launch.
T-mobile iphone girl is giving thumbs up to two visitors.
A truck is bringing in the iphones...
Everyone is enjoying the show.
Only two boxes??? Well, I don't care, I am number 3 anyways, but still? HOAX!
There they go, back stage to stock up the iphone stock!
Number two is being interviewed by one of the numerous camera crews. This is probably Bright (not sure)
Edwin, mister number one just took a dive through the paper into the store. Over 40 press people are fighting for a spot. Only the NOS is let inside!!!
And there he is (after a very very long time btw) showing off his iPhone to the world.
My band, at home :) More pictures to follow later of me in the store, but my batteries of my camera and phone died so I lended one but I dont have those pictures yet.
