Worms, Germany July 16, 2007
Worms, Germany - Worms is an ancient city, situated on the Rhein, occupied by the Romans, and became an important bishopric around 614A.D. It hosts a beautiful cathedral ca. 1018 (one of the nicest Romanesque medieval ones I've seen) and the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe (so it claims). Worms was also where the infamous 'Diet of Worms' happened, a diet composed to address Martin Luther's teachings. The later Edict of Worms declared him an outlaw. The city was heavily damaged by the French and then later in World War II.
