Friday night...Aug. 7...6:30pm...Ed is caught outdoors just as the day's snow showers become the evening's light snowfall.
Is it really snowing in August or has a giant, flying arctic pigeon (did I just make it up?) start to crap all over the neighbourhood?
Six days ago, we were having James' farewell BBQ here.
At 10:30pm, the snow has covered my yard and the wild grass growing in front of my house. My warehouses (the white buildings) usually look this way in October when the snow really starts to come down.
A shot from my front porch looking out. Yes, the store truck needs a wash! The front bay is just visible in the background.
Looking to the right of my door. I can't watch TV as the falling snow is jamming the satellite signal...notice the dish is pointed to the ground. I'm so far north, the signal has to be bounced into the ground from space and up into the dish.
The wild grass somehow manages to grow not in soil but in gravel. At times, it can get thick in patches.
My railing after 4 hours of snowfall (6:30pm-10:30pm).
I can almost visualize being in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics six months ahead of schedule....
