Air vent holder for TomTom One
My home made air vent holder for the TomTom One Sat/Nav.
As effective as the supplied TomTom One windscreen mount is, it's not perfect. It's comparatively bulky, can be awkward to use and leaves a mark on the windscreen which can attract thieves (and is difficult to completely remove each time).
What I've always wanted is a small mount that would clip into the air vent but after searching, I couldn’t find one I was happy with. So, I decided to have a go at making one.
It consists of a few nuts and bolts, angle braces and tap washers all bought for around £10 at my local B&Q (a UK DIY shop) plus two strong bulldog clips from WH Smiths. The only tools required were a screwdriver, small spanner and a craft knife.
It's adjustable (in-car, without tools) in two axis and I didn't harm the original holder so I can still use that if I need to.
