Confusing much? Narita airport
View from Narita Express to Tokyo
Don't know what Taro did, but he upset someone...
Yummy snack on the train
Bit blurry, but a cool display in the train to tell you where you are
That blue penguin (if that's what he is) doesn't look too comfortable being that close to those lights
Shinjuku - I love it!
More backstreets of Shinjuku
I guess if you want an Australian domain, this is where you get it from...
Mmmm... appetising. Just look at that hotdog (if that's what it is). Or the hamburger.
KFC selling beer. Still not worth eating the dirty bird.
More Shinjuku (sorry, bit addicted)
Glad to know she'll inherit something
The Goddess of Mercy, peeking out from the hillside on a trainride down south. Wish I had time to properly go check this out - it would've been massive
Arrival at Hase station, note single track except for platforms
On the way to Great Kannon Temple
Entrance to Great Kannon Temple
The most beautiful gardens in the world
Need I say more...
A blue dragonfly on the flower - very cool
A carp pond
Happy much?
My tour guide for the day (Emiko), I know she looks lost, she wasn't :)
Angry much?
Shinto entrance to a cave temple (very cool)
Prayer wall
Pretty flowers (not sure if that's their horticultural name, but it's what I'm going with)
Happy pond. Hang on, no, that's an evil pond! (Note, this symbol doesn't mean what you think it does)
A very sad shrine. Each of those small figures represent a child who has died. Parents come throughout the year and dedicate flowers / candles / statues to mark safe passage for their child into the afterlife. Sorry for the bummer :(
Big temple
Just chillin'
Bamboo Garden
I was always suspicious of crows. The Japanese have their eye on them
Bigger temple
Serenity now
Carp saying "hey"
Big ass buddha
In fact, it's the Great Buddha (not big ass, as previously reported), and something quite impressive and inspiring
Big ass sandles for the big ass, I mean Great Buddha
Everyone loves a bargain, even the Japanese
Half a superhero (apparently Japan's version of Superman)
Shinto entrance to a long walk to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
Long, pretty walk. Apparently nice in Cherry Blossom season (where Japanese folk walk it at a snail's pace)
Real Shinto entrance to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
There is a pond underneath...
Good to see they keep the kids busy. Probably building a new wing or something...
Ahh... sake
Part of the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
Up close and personal with the sake
Some clown at one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan
I'd be careful shopping here. Watch where you tread.
Shopping Town
If I started a ladies fashion outlet, I'd probably call it "TOM" as well...
Tricked out ride, dude.
Back in Shinjuku (again)
More streetscenes
Luckily it was about 10:30am
... or else afew of us would've been in trouble
My lunch today
Even after opening it, I still wasn't sure what it was (even after eating it in fact)
Happy Andy on his way to Kyoto on the bullet train
A street festival I wandered into tonight in Kyoto
Pretty ladies (plenty of them in traditional dress around the festival tonight)
Fish for sale
The festival
Ummm... NOT fish for sale. Freaky looking big ass bugs in fact.
In case you had any doubt, you're eating Tweety Bird. C'mon kids, it'll be yummy!
This one's for Sean; you always thought your job was rubbish - here's proof!
