Snake Village

Making Nem with Second Year Students
I invited some of my "oldest" friends from Vietnam over to teach me how to make one of my favorite Vietnamese foods: nem! We had a blast!!

I went to visit the grandparents of the boys that I tutor, who are also the parents of Nga (from the NIN). Then Bang took me to see But Thap Pagoda, the OLDEST pagoda in all of Vietnam! It was built in the 1600s!!

Sarah's First Week
God has blessed Team Vietnam with another volunteer, Sarah! She just arrived last week and has had TONS of experiences already including a trip to the villages and attending a wedding feast! Oh, and a bit of flooding in her bedroom :) Welcome to Vietnam, Sarah! We are all glad to have you here!!

Mom and Liz Visit
My mom and sister were able to come and visit me for a whole week! They finally got to meet my Vietnam family and friends :) Most fo these pictures are from our overnight trip to Ha Long Bay!

Christmas Vacation: Da Nang
I spent 3 wonderful days with my Vietnam family: LCMS and the NIN. We had SO much fun and saw some beautiful sights! Great weather too! God gives me so many blessings :D

Hai Phong with Nghia
I was invited by one of my good friends to his cousin's wedding in the city of Hai Phong. It was about 2 1/2 hours on the train to get there, and what a beautiful place! I had a lot of fun :)

Sarah and Betsy's Visit
Every 3 months, Sarah and Betsy (GEOs from Thailand) have to leave to renew their visit. They were some of my favorite girls that I met in Taiwan and I was SO excited for them to visit me! I was their tour guide and they got a 4 days whirlwind tour of Hanoi! Good times :)

VResort with NIN
I was honored to be invited to a resort a couple hours outside of Hanoi with the National Institute of Nutrition. The place was really nice! The best part was that Celeste finally decided to like me again AND Bella finally warmed up to be enough to let me hold her :)

Mai Chau with HIC
Hanoi Internation Church had a retreat in Mai Chau, a northern Thai village. It was a quiet place to relax, enjoy each other's company, and take in some beautiful scenery!

PEC (Parabol English Club)
This is the English club on campus sponsored by our faculty, and more recently by LCMS! Some of my favorite students are members of this club and Thursday nights are something I have come to look forward to the most during the week!
