Popradske Pleso train station - we arrived late in the night and had a good sleep here
on the path to Popradske Pleso (Pleso = Lake)
first sight of the mountains
above the Poprad lake on the way to the Zlomiskova Dolina (Valley of stones)
in the Zlomiskova valley

Ladove Pleso (Frozen Lake) and part of the mighty Koncsista WNW wall (arround 500-600m)
late autumn weather (indian summer)
my boots - the granite is ruff on them
the valley is big and it offers tremendous opportunities
the mighty Koncsista WNW wall (arround 500-600m) in all it's glory
preparing for lunch at our bivouac
a beer is always welcomed
the gateway to the Zlomiskova valley - the tower that marks the entrance (seen from the heart of the valley)
joyful climbing - relaxed and in stunning environment
myself in the first pitch
Zoli on the top - is too late in the day, and we already knew we are in trouble
pano from the top (view to Poprad lake)
pano from the top (view to Ladove lake and Koncsista wall)
pano from the top (view to the trio; Tatra, Dracie, Dragon peaks) - in the back there is Ganek peak with part of it's 500m black wall
sunset and Poprad lake
darkness is here and we are still descending
4 rappels down a relatively steep and snow covered chimney and we are on safe ground
peace and tranquility in our little bivouac (we are all alone in this big valley and we love it)
Zoli eating a late supper
our home for 2 nights
in the morning, the mountain is waiting for us, calling us and hunting our souls (from left to right: Tatra(Vysoka) peak, Dracia peak; Dragon Peak)
Zoli and our bivouac late in the morning
the old style climbing shirt is something we never leave behind
looking back to memorize the way back (we had a feeling we would return after dark again)
on the way to do some climbing
we were happy - this is a climbers dream
going higher other peaks apear - in the back the Gerlachovska peak
approaching the start of the route
the route takes up this ridge and then slightly to the left to the summit (5/5+; 250m; unprotected; we found around 7-8 old pitons)
before the climb - is good to take some moments where you close your eyes and let go of anything that can pull you back to earth - once entered in this dance, you need to stay focused and look to the top, never back
the first steps
we took with us (one and half set of nuts, four middle sized friends, 6 bigger tricams, 7 pitons, 12 expres slings, 8 free carabiners, several long rope slings) - maybe it is too much but we are still beginners - so it is better to have than not to have :)
one step after the other - this is the secret
a good nut placement - should have protected it with a longer sling thought
when I am here I get detached from everything else - just me, the rock, some hardware and a rope, my partner (Zoli) and the sweet harmony with nature
I just love to do this - still can not explain why - I just do, and that's a fact

last picture with us and the bivouac in the morning we left for home
Zoli - lost in his thoughts
our route to the Zlomiskovu Veza peak and the descent we took - the peak was rising right above our bivouac (250m - II/III - unprotected - need to do at least one rappel on descent)
the happiness in our soul and a smile on our face is a promise to be back here next year
looking back (the Ladove river and the Zlobiva peaks in the back)
descending lower the green color starts to mix with the eternal gray of the higher regions
looking back (from ledt the two Tatra(Vysoka) peaks and the Dracia peak)
our route on the Dracia peak and our descent ((250m - IV - unprotected - can be continued on the ridge to the Vysoka(Tatra) peak but if you decide to come down you need to do at least 4 rappels of 50m)
in Tatra mountains there is place for anybody
