This is the famous Bodrum castle. When you go round it this is when you realise how much history surrounds Bodrum and of course Turkey generally. It is well worth a tour as it has brilliant views of the harbour and surounding area. I don't think they had invented air conditioning when the castle was first built. Well not this type anyway. Pity they can't disguise the units a bit.
Now this is interesting its a courtyard but what you can't see is there is a room that leads to the dungeons (prision). Trust me its black and smells like a dungeon and very creepy but worth a look.

This is the perimeter wall around the castle. I think this is where the soldiers would fire arrows bullets etc at advancing ships.

Of course this is a cannon used for defending off those pesky attacking ships.
