Arctic flowers are adapted for the conditions. These ones have to cope with summer snow in the middle of their flowering season

Diamond Beach about 5 k from the airport.
Resolute Airport from about 4k. The Airport Hotel is the light brown box just left of centre.
Arctic Poppy. The flowers warm up in sunshine and flies bask in them, pollinating tham at the same time.
This one was in Iqaluit. The flowers follow the sun while it is high enough to be visible from their level.
This one was exposed to the near gale and looking a bit battered.
Yet to be identified
This was the only rock in the immediate vicinity that had lichen on it.
As a first guess, I think this might be Tufted Saxifrage S. Caespitosa
It's covered in tiny wildflowers and plants...
