Hiking
In spite of its moderate size, Albania offers many opportunities to hike for hours, days or weeks through an impressive, diverse landscape.
We organise hikes in the South, running along the crystal-blue waters of the Ionian Sea, trekking high ridges and panoramic peaks, strolling through pine forests, olive and citrus groves, visiting monuments along the way that narrate an incredibly rich history.
In the North, we hike through the fairytale scenery of Valbona and Thethi Valleys, crossing high passes while admiring towering mountains that together form the “Alps” of Albania. Accommodation usually takes place in the homes of the Albanian highlanders, the “Malësorë”, located in small, picturesque villages surrounded by impressive mountains.
OA guides pioneered walking holidays in Albania in 1992.
