"Hey, Addy, do you want to go horseback riding today?" Mia asked. "Sure, Mia!" Addy agreed.
"Let's find some pants and shirts to wear. We can't wear dresses when we go riding, it isn't safe." Mia explained.
"I'll wear this." She said, picking out her outfit.
"I like this red and white striped shirt!" Addy proclaimed. "It looks very patriotic."
The girls slipped out of their dresses and into their riding clothes.
"Are you ready?" Mia asked. "Yes!" Addy exclaimed.
"The horses are down there. The grey one with the white spots is named Polka. The solid grey one with the pink mark on her flanks is Twinkle." Mia explained.
The girls climbed down.
"Come on Polka, Twinkle!" Mia called.
Within a few moments, the horses had trotted up to Mia, hoping for carrots. "Sorry girls, I don't have any food for you today. Maybe after we go riding."
"You'll ride Polka, Addy." Mia said. "Ohh, can't I ride Twinkle? She's much prettier." Addy begged. "No, Twinkle isn't broken all the way yet. She's a bit too green for you." Mia said. "Green? She looks grey to me." Addy said with a twinkle in her eye.
"You know what I mean." Mia laughed, giving Twinkle a hug.
The girls quickly mounted their respective horses.
"Where are we going to go?" Addy questioned, squeezing her legs into Polka's sides.
"Follow me." Mia said, smiling.
"Hey, wait up!" Addy said. She wasn't quite accustomed to galloping yet. "Sorry!" Mia shouted behind her, and pulled up Twinkle.
Within a few minutes, the girls had reached where they were going. "What a beautiful field!" Addy exclaimed.
The girls dismounted and laid down amongst the soft green grass. The horses grazed as the girls gazed at the clouds.
"Oh, I see a frog!" Mia giggled, pointing upward. "I see a two-headed dinosaur with a fuzzy tail!" Addy chortled, and both girls laughed hysterically.

All too soon, it started getting dark and they had to head home.
When they got home, like all good horsewomen, they washed and curried their hoses.
"Oh, you're such a pretty horse!" Mia crooned to Twinkle.
"So did you have a good time horseback riding?" Mia asked Addy. "Oh yes, it was loads of fun!" Addy exclaimed. "Thanks so much!"
