On a frigid winter day, the doorbell sounded from outside.
"I wonder who that could be?" Ashley wondered.
She scratched her head, perplexed, as the doorbell rang again. "Well, I guess I better answer it."
She took a leap toward the doorknob...
And grabbing it, gave it a hard turn.
She slowly opened the door, and her mouth fell open at what she saw.
"Hello!" The other girl said in a thick English accent. "It's rather blustery out here...mind if I step in for a spot?" "Umm...sure." Ashley said. "Who are you?"
"Marlene Victoria Elizabeth Smith-Hadwell." The girl recited. "But everyone calls me Marnie."
"What a...er...long name. Um, won't you come in?" Ashley said, staring at the newcomer.
"Thank you! Brrrr, it was absolutely BLUSTERY outside!" Marnie said, hugging herself.
"And what might your name be?" Marnie asked. "I'm Ashley. Ashley Evette." Ashley replied. "That's all I've got." "What a lovely name." Marnie said.
"Thanks. Uh, come on in!" Ashley still seemed at loss as to what to do. She had never seen another My Twinn before like her.
While she shut the door, Marnie walked around, taking in all of her new home.
"What a beautiful Christmas tree!" She exclaimed as Ashley joined her.
She reached out and gently touched one of the ornaments.
"Thanks." Ashley said. She was starting to warm up to this outgoing English girl.
"Are we the only My Twinn's here?" Marnie asked. "Yup, just you and me." Ashley said, smiling. "I'm glad to have a friend. It's kind of boring around here with just me."
"We'll be friends FOREVER!" Marnie said, grabbing Ashley in a sudden hug. Ashley hugged back. "Forever." She smiled.
