Swap, Save, Build - a community event!
Swap, Save, Build! is a community event, organized for and by the community. The objective was to inculcate
in individuals a respect for resources and motivate them to reduce resource and energy consumption. The event
had the theme of recycling and reusing materials, in order to reduce our environment footprint.Advit Foundation and Get Alive Gurgaon came together to organize a unique initiative to not only motivate people to conserve resources but also provide them a platform to practically do so.
The participants brought their books, games, CDs/DVDs etc., donated half and swapped half with others. And in
the process reduced usage and saved carbon emissions! Various interesting activities – Making Birdhouses to appreciate the biodiversity of nature, Kabaad-Se-Jugaad to reduce carbon footprint, Art Workshops, Theatre, Photography for the Environment - had been organized. Storytelling, a dance performance and a rock band performance were also organized.
