Urja Yatra

Advit Foundation organized a day-long programme centering on energy efficiency and energy conservation on Jan 18th, 2011 at RGREP. The programme was organized as part of the Urja Yatra – a country-wide energy awareness campaign. The day-long programme was organized to spread the message of energy conservation among the Gurgaon community. The day's events included a variety of workshops and awareness sessions for various strata of the Gurgaon community including school children and teachers, college students corporates, NCC cadets and citizens of Gurgaon.

Energy Conservation Day Celebration at RGREP

HAREDA, in association with Advit Foundation, organized an event at the Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park on 17th December 2010 to mark the occasion of Energy Conservation Day. Close to 100 students, belonging to various BURM schools across Gurgaon, participated in painting, slogan writing and essay writing competitions with energy efficiency and conservation as theme.

Health Camp and Training for Carpet Weavers at Panipat Factories

Advit Foundation, in association with Goodweave India, conducted health and safety training and organized a health camp for factory workers at Panipat. Advit team had the chance to interact with about 250 workers and talk in depth about their health related issues and constraints. In the coming month, Advit will be organizing such training and health in ~15 more such factories in the Panipat industrial area.

"Green" Birthday Celebration

With the aim to spread a message among the children about holding a birthday party with a pledge to adopt renewable energy, “Green" Birthdays were organized at the Energy Centre. The children were introduced to Renewable Energy and Energy Saving concepts and also involved in activities like nature walks, tree plantation etc and took home the message of “Going Green” in a fun manner.

Book Distribution at RGREP

HAREDA and Advit Foundation organised a book distribution for 25 government and public schools in Gurgaon on Sep 24. Educational Books on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency were distributed to schools under the Bal Urja Rakshak Mission (BURM) of the Haryana Government.

Taking another step in the direction of rural education, we have started a school for the underserved. The school is being run in a community park at the Greenwood City society for the children of the domestic helps, where they can learn and spend time meaningfully rather than roaming in the streets. The stress here is on developing children’s thinking and making them learn rather than getting them to secure academic degrees. The school was flagged-off two weeks back and has around 25 children enrolled as of now. The RWA, Greenwood City have been actively involved in this initiative and the residents have also come forward to volunteer

Holi Workshop @ RGREP

Holi Workshop at Energy Park Holi is always fun time. This time along it was even more fun for the children at the Government School in Sec-54, Gurgaon as well as those present at the energy park on the weekend before Holi. We held a workshop on "Making Eco-friendly Colors" which was an absolute hit with the children. They learned how natural holi colors can be made out of our basic kitchen material: haldi, besan, atta, maida and the like. And how to grind flowers and leaves to make colors out of them. All in all, a holi celebrated with fun and learning

This is an informal school for children from low income families - children of domestic servants, drivers, tea stalls, gardeners and others involved in the upkeep of the neighbourhood, homes and offices attend the classes. Their parents cannot afford to send them to school.

The Green Gala!

“The Green Gala” organised at Epicenter by Advit Foundation successfully reminded people about the beauty of nature. It created an increased awareness of a carbon neutral lifestyle among the NCR populace. Children, increasingly aware and conscious of the environment benefited most from the event. “Several events were organized over the last few weeks to mark the environment day. Most events focus on the problems that we face. One has to cherish nature to realize the need to conserve it. With this belief, Advit Foundation organized he Green Gala - An event to celebrate and enliven our environment”, said Charu Jain, Director, Advit.
