George W. Retherford 9/15/10
Mr. George William Retherford, age 88, of Bonifay, passed away September 15, 2010 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. He was born December 13, 1921 in Bonifay, to the late James Bernie and Daisy Lisenby Retherford.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Retherford in preceded in death by five sisters, Vassie Retherford, Minnie Strickland, Lennie Harris, Nicie Driscoll, Vicie Weeks, Lovie Mae Price; two brothers, James H. Retherford, Johnnie Retherford; one grandchild, Kristen.
He is survived by two sons, Jim Retherford of Lakeland, and Tom Retherford and wife, Peggy of Barbourville, KY; five grandchildren, Adrienne, Danielle, Holly, Stacey, Samantha; one sister, Lizzie Lewis and husband, Elijah of Bonifay; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held, September 17, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Moore officiating. Interment followed in the Bonifay City Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
