Beautiful Doll after the switch at the SPOT tent.
KBIE still showing fog, but I'm 412nm from it - time for it to burn off. The key to a good 'macro' picture is holding a sectional over the GPS to reduce the glare (and an autopilot <g>)
Lunch!
Back in the air for the second leg. The XM WX let me know this OVC only lasted 50 miles at it was pretty uniform at 2,700' agl.
The gap I eventually went through (I'm about 90nm from it at this spot).
Decided to shoot the gap over on the 150* heading. Animation loop showed it closing up faster down in the Dallas area.
More like 143*
Still about 80nm from it - hope it stays open long enough.

Climbing to 15,500'
Here we go! I'm at 15,500' and on O2 here. 38*F OAT. See the white dot at the top of the blue? It's an airliner coming the other way.
In the shade for the rest of the way!
After I got through the gap closed and the line intensified (but didn't move east - just stayed put).
Clear skies to the east. Lots of options...
My 'heater tent'. Cabin heat on in the floor inflates it. 38*F OAT. You can read 15,500' on the ALT and see the storms on the GPS. Use the magnifying glass upper right or click Slideshow for larger image.
5min from crossing Red River (ticks front of plane)
Red River - I'm back in Texas!
Lake Lewisville (and home) on the horizon.
Logged 5.9 hours flying today. What a flying machine!
