Cantillon Gueuze Loerik 1998, poured from a wine basket. Both purchased directly at the brewery. Label by Louis-Michel Carpentier.
Loerik means "lazy bones" or "lazy boy" in English. It is a rare and unintentional gueuze that did not referment in the bottle as it should. This bottle is a 1998, which is the most recent occurrence of this oddity that I am aware of.
Cantillon Rosé De Gambrinus, censored version from 1994.
This aged Rosé De Gambrinus had lost almost all of it's pink color, leaving just a golden yellow hue.
Isabelle Proximus, the story from Tomme Arthur: "On our journey [Taken by several American craft brewers], we visit Cantillon, Drie Fontenien, Boon and other great breweries. It becomes clear in the course of all of our conversations, that there is no one way to make sour beer. As we travel from one brewery to the next all sauced up on sour beer, we begin to envision a project back at home. It is decided that an homage to the storied production of Lambic is what we should attempt. "
