Committee of Management held BBQ celebrating completion after inspecting thejob - anticipating open
Hulls Engineering Australia finished construction. Committee did Inspection. The Bridge will be officially opened on the 13 June 2008.
Barricade removal regular problem- people happily crossing the Bridge today. Person counter [Required Mounting position too high to collect info on Children] showed over 100 unauthorised crossings in the last 24 hours.
Bridge inspected, thumbs up . Construction ongoing: carpark and final tidy to approaches - signage and permanent safety fences to come.
Counter ceremoniously reset to 0 at 2pm, the mesh barriers were removed and we are now "road testing" it - always seeking feedback [ejc@sgcia.net] working towards the official opening.
Counter had recorded 188 crossings by 5pm.
15 cyclists from Melbourne [friends that had been encouraged by a peer who had been on the Great Victorian Bike Ride - organised by Bicycle Victoria - trialed the trail at Foster this year] fluked it as first visitors to cross the Bridge.
