Hickory Knob Triathlon 2008
I did a sprint distance at the Hickory Knob Triathlon on Oct 11th, 2008. It was awesome and I ended up with a time of 1:35.

Ultralight Flying
Emily and I went flying on ultralights. First we rode a "Trike", a ultralight with a sail wing, like a hangglider. Then we rode a Challenger II, which is a fixed wing ultralight and looks more like a regular plane. I got to pilot the Challenger for 20 minutes or so!

RockClimbing Krabi
We spent a day heading over to Railay Beach by boat and then doing an afternoon of rock climbing. We had a blast and I'm quite sore the next day!

Pongprabaht Church Update
A YWAM Montana team is working with the church this week to continue the great work started by the Simpsonville First Baptist team. They are also going to helping the church create a "Sala", or open walled building for meeting space.

Pongprabaht Church - Progress
The building that our church team helped with is coming along. The roof framing has been put on, the second floor flooring, and second floor supports. Some of the walls downstairs have been put in as well. It's great to see progress continuing to be made on this building! Thanks Simpsonville First Baptist for your work on this.

The border town of Mai Sai, Thailand is a place that bustles. While commerce flows between Thailand and Myanmar (Burma), there is much sadness as well. Children who beg and teens hustling to smuggle goods across the border are seen daily.

Moo's Home Blessing
Our facilities director built a small home and we went on Sunday to bless the home. We sang songs and had a short message and lunch. It is a wonderful tradition here to bless a home before moving in.

Emily's Mission Trip
The Family Learning Center Mission Club did a mission trip to Takuapa, an area devastated by the December 2004 Tsunami. Here are some pictures from Emily's work there. They ran a VBS (Vacation Bible School) for the youth of the area.

Karen Hilltribe Carolers
A nearby Christian village does Christmas Caroling each year for local Christians. We make hot chocolate and cookies for them. One year they ate 17 dozen cookies!!!

Car Wreck
Cindy's car was struck by a semi truck as she was leaving the airport. She and Marshall were in the car and miraculously safe through the accident. They didn't get a scratch, but the car had to be totally rebuilt.

Marshall's Allergic Reaction
Marshall has had severe allergic reactions to a fuzzy catepillar which is in Thailand. We've found a good allergy doctor who has helped manage these episodes. There was an episode a year before this that was worse. He doesn't seem to be allergic to other things like seafood. Just this crazy catepillar.
