15 March 2003 - HLF683 has just arrived at our restoraion site. It is sitting on temporary track and covered with a borrowed tarp.
15 March 2003 - The other end of 683. It had survived a fire that destroyed the carriage next to it but didn't come out unscathed. This end will require a total rebuild.
9th May 2003 - Now on our own track 683 is being covered with our tarp. Ben and Ian are puting the tarp in place assisted by Stephen on the ground.
Circa May 2005 - one rear panel has been removed for repair
5th June 2005 - Paul and Stephen watch as Ben works under 683 preparing to remove the handbrake assembly.
18 December 2005 - Paul and Kevin have just removed the end panel with the help of Alan on the end platform.
29 April 2007 - Kevin has repaired the handbrake assembly. He overhauled the winch gears and built up the bottom of the shaft that engages with those gears. Other parts of 683 (and 547) are visible too. Kevin repaired and painted all of them.
