Korre looks VERY excited considering she got up at 0400 this morning! Just not sure why she's guarding the Boy's Restroom...
This is the way fast people look before a race - Aaron getting his game face on

Is there anything better than Daddy being with one of his Little Girls?

Mike Paisley from Clayton - last saw him at the Umstead Trail Marathon back in March, he's run several marathons since then
This was a sweet couple - that's 71 year old Don Bell from Bar Harbor, ME taking a picture of his wife Jean. He said: I used to be faster than her; - she only beat him by 16 minutes. Jean took 1st in 60-64 women while Don was 2nd in 70-74 men. We can only wish we are still putting in the miles in our seventh and eighth decades.
Sharon isn't that far behind us... and she's coming fast
Gail is looking strong
One of the most enthusiatic runners you will ever meet - Wendy Sibley from Fuquay-Varina. She's a WISHer (you all know who you are)!
Chuck trying to keep up with Don, with Taciana Yonkovich from Raleigh taking a sip to their right. We shared miles with her at the Umstead Trail Marathon last March.
GREAT Scream Teams at the aid stations. This event is first class all the way and the enthusiasm of the support crews is a tremendous help to all runners.
Chuck finally made a brief stop at one of the Little Blue Houses
Sharon caught us
We are smiling because it's downhill
Check out the door in the upper level of the barn behind Ron's head. The exercise bike is still tucked away in storage!
Now to the finish (Ron dropped his camera and broke it so there are no more on course shots after mile 10, Ricky doesn't take on course shots because he's one of the FAST people). Here Wayne brings it home for hardware - he took 3rd place in the 55-59 AG.
Tommy was only 2 minutes behind Wayne
Tommy enters the finishing chute
Here come the younguns
Jason and Korre are still smiling after all those hills
To the chute...
...and across the line. Korre took 2nd place in the 15-19 AG!
Spanky's been here forever, he was the first of the Virginia crew to finish
Ron, Sharon, and Chuck proving again it cost less per hour to run the race for some people
Reckon we'll make the brochure this year?
Kyle Petty stood at the finish line for ALL the finishers - the epitome of class
Tommy and Wayne with Kyle Petty - one of racing's greatest families. What he and Patty have done with the Victory Junction Gang Camp is both amazing and heartwarming. It brings us back to this race every year.
