The Estate had a prize winning Guernsey herd of cows from the 1930s through to the late 1960s. With very high butter fat but lower yields than Friesians, Guernsey cows fell out of favour but are now starting to make a comeback as milk is used for wider range of products. Guernsey cows in parkland setting is quintessential Victorian and Edwardian country estate look. The photo shows the cows in the Park looking towards the 16th fairway.
