Fitting Sena SMH10 Bluetooth Headset to Schuberth C3 Helmets
I don't like phrases like "you can't do it" or "you can do it, but you need to buy another kit" ;-)
This is how I worked out how to fit the Sena SMH10 headsets to our Schuberth C3 helmets using the clamp kit supplied, since I didn't feel happy with the self adhesive stick-on kit.
The problems are that there's the internal visor mechanism in the way as well as a thick lip to the helmet base and the neck cushion has to fit into this lip. The recommended option is to buy another mounting kit (for £40) to mount the unit further back, but you'd still have to use the self adhesive kit anyway.
Taking a close look at the neck cushion, it's obvious that it doesn't fit properly around the visor mechanism anyway, so I reasoned another couple of centimeters shouldn't make any difference. This leaves the matter of the thickness of the lip. I reckoned a spacer could be knocked up that would allow the clamp to work by avoiding the lip.
