2000.07.01 - Day 1 Okay, I will admit it, I forgot that I was supposed to be starting today! (It was David's birthday, I have an excuse.... right?) I had this idea that I was going to take a picture of myself, at the beginning and end, to mark changes, to see how 'I' have changed, not just to remember the world around me. By accident, this is somehow more fitting: I bake. It is what I do, what calms me, how I bring others happiness, how I share my life, and is the basis for my blog. Who knows, maybe my baking skills will improve over the coming year as well. :)
2000.07.02 Before dinner out with friends, I had just come home and was on my way to the shower. No make-up, this is it (with a banana tree in the background).
2000.07.03 I have a fascination with Koi, I don't know why, but I could watch them for hours. Today David, my brother and I wandered around Swanson's (it is like a plant Disneyland), had a coffee, watched the Koi, and managed to limit myself to only two plants (apple mint and spicy oregano).

2000.07.05 Three months ago this banana was two feet tall and a bit of a pipe dream. I paid $12 for it at a plant sale thinking that if it didn't grow I wouldn't be out too much right? It adds a leaf a week, each two inches longer than the last, only slowing down for shade.
2000.07.06 It has been a rough day of run-around, but the highlight was coming into work this morning to find a bunch of rhubarb on my desk! I am dreaming of my Mom's rhubarb cake...
2000.07.07 You see that man in the blue shirt? He called me unlucky not once, but twice in the elevator on the way out of the building. It was my elevator! I called the elevator, he rushed to get in, yet when others joined the foray homeward , this man accused me of causing the delay! I really wish I had ever so innocently asked "maybe you're the unlucky one?" I mean who says that to a person? At the time I just smiled and ruefully apologized, but in retaliation? I took his picture.
2000.07.08 The best thing that happened today: David left me a clean towel for the shower. THAT is romance!

2000.07.22 I must have taken 20 + pictures of this bowl of lemons (purchased for a for a tasty Salsa Verde potato recipe), I love the contrast between the fruit and the dark coffee table! Aside from the picture of David (just because I happened to catch him smiling!) this is the first picture I have taken during this project that I really love.

2009.07.24 This has been a rough growing year! I feel like everything I have tried to grow has gotten some kind of bug or sickness! The cucumbers are no exception, though I love their reflection in the window.

2009.08.03 This is one of my favorite buildings in Seattle. Formerly the Coliseum Theater, one of the earliest local theaters designed exclusively for film, now the Banana Republic.

2009.08.08 This is the first movie David and I have EVER seen in a theater! He hates previews, chick flicks and anything made after 1990 (I tease), but I was so excited to see this movie (after reading the book approximately 5 times), and after he actually said that he liked the movie! That really made my day! :)

2009.09.23 I lived in Seattle for a few years after college, before moving to Nevada. The last year or so was in a building across the street from this one (now town hall) - you could lean out the living or kitchen windows to see this building, it is especially beautiful at night.
2009.09.24 This was the building across the street, now torn down for some yet to be started condo build I'm sure. My life changed pretty dramatically while living there, it is sad to see it in pieces.
