Portfolio and Product Update Workshop May 16 - 17

This will be a rigorous 2 days of learning and working, but plan on leaving some time and energy to socialize with your decorative painting and plastering colleagues! A great lunch will be offered on both days, and we will take the class out for a fantastic dinner on the first evening of each class - on SAFS - so keep that night open. Also, Aaron will be breaking into his wine cellar for the late afternoon cocktail hour at least once per class – wine aficionados, take notice! Learn different techniques, review and test new products, and enjoy the opportunity to spend time with other professionals in your field. Don’t miss out.

Txtures & Metallics 1 April 21-23, 2008

We'll use a wide variety of synthetic textures and metallic paints, glazes and waxes to achieve an incredible range of unique and highly sought-after finishes. These are hot finishes that allow you to re-create many of the very desirable and expensive hand painted wallpapers on the market, as well as creating an almost limitless range of colors, textures, and looks. This workshop is a must for any professional finisher. We will be featuring Golden's Proceed Product line in our decorative wall finishing series.

Venetian Plastering II - Mar. 31 - Apr. 2

The Certification course teaches decorative artistic and plaster finishes during 3 days of intensive training that covers a variety of application techniques for natural lime plasters. Students will work hands-on with Stucco Italiano's Marmorino Carrara, Marmorino Classic, Marmorino Velvet, Intonachino, and Tadelakt, and learn the correct methods of application and uses for these plasters. This class will confer Stucco Italiano Residential Certification on successful completion of the course. This will enable these graduates to be referred as Certified Installers for Stucco Italiano specified projects.

Venetian Plastering III - Nov. 8 - 10, 2007

This class will introduce you to many more sophisticated, multi-layered Venetian plaster techniques as well as self-polishing plasters, Puntinato finishes, striping, accents, borders, super-high polish Venetian plasters and waxes, and much more. You'll learn many different approaches to achieving impressive decorative design elements in this intensive 3-day professional workshop. The advanced class also will cover best practices for running a small independently owned Decorative Finishing business, getting the most out of your crew, proper bidding procedures, billing for extras, and basic marketing strategies to promote your new skills.

Class with Stucco Italiano owner Giovanni Polistena

Stucco Italiano is manufactured in Italy in the middle of the Veneto Region, near Venice, under the supervision of Giovanni Polistena, master artisan and installer. This area is well-known for being one of the richest in Italian architectural heritage and artisanship. This past October we had the privilege of hosting Giovanni for a 5-day advanced training workshop at Seattle Architectural Finishing Studio.
