On September 10, 2010, members of the Drexel Northern California Alumni Club gathered in San Francisco to thank Shapoor Hashemi (third from right) for his years of service as President, and to elect Jim Gravesande (fourth from right) as its next President.
The food at Amber Restaurant was superb!
Drexel Associate Vice President Cristina Geso presented Hashami with a special painting of Drexel's Main Building in Philadephia (1891) through which he walked many times before he graduated in 1992. He helped form the Northern California Alumni Club two years later.
Drexel Senior Vice President Tobey Oxhom, Dean of Drexel's Center for Graduate Studies in Sacramento, presented gifts to Hashemi: a bottle of Drexel Water Boy Wine (from Amador County) ....
... one of the sweatshirts worn by Drexel Sacramento students, and a Certificate of Appreciation making him an Honorary Member of the Inaugural Cohort, set to graduate in December 2010 with their masters degrees.
It was a happy occasion, enjoyed by all.
And it took no time for Hashemi's firend, Ladan Zarrabi, to move into the sweatshirt!
With thanks, to someone who always said "Sure!" whenever Drexel Sacramento asked for support.
