SPIRIT Day!

5 fun volunteer events happened for the first time in 2008! They were cleaning up the University Bay Marsh, constructing the Haunted House in Olin Park, visiting the Capitol Lakes Nursing Home, cooking a meal at the Ronald McDonald House, and putting guidebooks together at the Children's Hospital. The day was a success, and was only possible through the SPIRIT and willingness to give time to help the community from SWE members! Thanks everyone!!

Ghandi Day of Service 2008

The SWE Community Service members participated in the Ghandi Day of Service as part of a joint event with SAIVA. There were events cleaning up Tenney Park, volunteering at a kiddie fair at Apple fest, and helping to set up the soccer fields for the Lose the Shoes event. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Badge Day hosted by SWE for Junior Girl Scouts throughout Wisconsin. ASME and BMES volunteered with SWE as well, and the girls earned three science badges.

This event was held at the Pyle Center and included a small scale career fair with an informal dinner. It offered student attendees a change to network with company representatives over a delicious meal. SWE scholarships were also awarded to 15 deserving members.
