The 1979 party was one of many parties. The 1980 party was a going-away party for Bill Nicholls, as he was leaving SRC for a job in Washington, D.C., with the Census Bureau.

SRC location since the 1970's: The Anna Head Building

SRC is currently located in the historic Anna Head buildings. These beautiful, Queen Anne style, buildings were built in 1892 by architect Soule Edgar Fisher, for the private and very prestigious Anna Head School for Girls, In 1979, the Anna Head School school became co-educational and is now known as the Head-Royce School in Oakland, California. The buildings are noted as the first recorded shingle construction in Berkeley and are currently listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association has sought landmark status for the old Anna Head campus.
