Oshoogatsu (new year) The year of the Boar
On Wednesday January 24, 1007 in the Sobrato Commons, The Asian Studies & Modern Languages and Literatures group sponsored the Japanese celebration of Oshoogatsu. Translated to English, this is simply the New Year. This event was highlighted by the performance of Marie Nakajima. An acclaimed & award-winning Opera singer, she performed several songs for the group composed of students, faculty, and guests. This event was a true success and many thanks go to those involved with its preparation.
