The 4 H Center Entrance, take a right!
You can't get lost, go uphill.
Like it says, take another right.
Yep, you guessed it, take a right.
We assemble for the setup. Good showing early in the day.
Sam gets an early start on the first antenna.
We were all in the cabins, but the camp was actually very busy.
The camp fire pit was popular in the evening.
The other side of the camp filled out quickly.
The parking was not restricted this year and formed a few rows, working just great for moving equipment around. The GOTA station was out of view to the right, along with the gen set.
Well- we transmit on this board...
OK, how do I connect these two towers? Which wires do we use?
Just a little higher Steve.
Thanks Joe, we needed that hand. Note William is the one on the ground. Steve is in the air.
Sam already has it together. Now to get it in the air.
Bobby found a cool spot to operate talk-in. But then, Bobby is always the cool cat.
That is "Pot of Coffee Daily" Bobby. Note magmounts work best on popcorn cans.
Ray helps Nate with last minute cable repairs. We ended up with plenty of new wire and Nate made it work.
Camp mascot Sam finds a place out of trouble, next to master Ken's rig.
It was hard to get folks away from the radios, but there were times...
More solder, this time KL2BO, Dale, helps Steve with the loop wiring.
William is a bit aprehensive with the "on the spot set up of the network." If the computers don't talk, we revert to paper. Yuk, paper!
Joe helps with talk-in.
Anita and Avril take a break.
Ron, KO7V and Anita, KE7BJR.
AB7ZQ, Bonnie enjoys the site, all the hams, and the nice weather. We enjoyed her visit.
K7VBY, Gary, one of the CW team. Gary helps run the CW net for 5 WPM training.
Mark, KD7MGF, and Bonnie AB7ZQ, Oregon's ARRL Section Manager.
Theresa, who runs a dog training operation. You can tell she loves dogs.
There's Stuart, KE7BJQ. Stuart is our new PIO officer and managed to get us into the local paper quite nicely.
Ron, KO7V. Great general helper.
Scott, KE7EQA, helped with his bow, a tough job at this site. Thanks again Scott. Two antennas, many, many arrows.
Dale, KL2BO recently from Alaska.
Rick, KE7WEW
Jason KE7NMS
Chris, K6FIB, with his daughter, Sofia.
Darrel, Tom and Anita
Stuart and Anita in a rare stationary position.
N7AUS, Simon kids around with the gang.
Pat, K8PIT and Sam, KE7DKZ at the station.
We finally caught Doug, KE7ASM, in one moment away from his duties.
I think Arline is directing traffic here. Her call is KD7HSV.
W7WVC had fun checking the whole thing out. Next time Mike, you get 75 Meters at midnight.
I know, it looks like we loaded the tower. No, but maybe next time.
We get the first tower up. Sam will operate a multi band beam. He is the one adjusting the ladder.
Sam shows off, lifting the beam by himself. Hey, it works.
Almost up. It requires only slight pulls from the right. We use a rope and pulley system.
Scott threads the needle on the arrow, while Jim holds down the line.
Dan gets picky with the tie downs. It has to be straight you know!
Steve plays "tug of war"
I can tell that Arlene can't beleive we got it up right. Ray and Nate just marvel at the sight.
Actually, we are just providing a party for Sam, the dog to enjoy. Maybe if Dan could notice, they are passing the rope on to the right.
Good boy Sam. Ken is never too far from Sam.
Preping tower number two.
That is Sam lifting the 40'tower by himself of course. Steve is calling for help.
OK, this time we will use the jen pole.
Dan walks the plank.
Oh, not another rope?
Scott and Jim talk over the next shot: "Lets put that arrow at the top of that one. The 40 Meter Dipole will work from there."
Mark readys the generator. Steve ponders whether he can run his home with this.
Mark starts the long ground system.
Ninja Mark and his power toys. I never saw the rod go in, must have worked fast.
Our camp diesel generator furnished by Dan KE7DLA, not to be confused with Steve, KE7DLE. We never even made it work, as it purred through the event.
It is starting to look like a camp.
Arlene trys to get Jim to eat, whil he seems more interested in his fishing.
Scott checks out the cooking with Doug at the burners.
I wonder if there is a second dinner in that teardrop trailer?

Stuart, KE7BJQ and Anita, KE7BJR at the controls, 15 meters.
Avril logging, Stuart making the contacts. 15 meters.
Gary and Nate work Ken's station. Gary looks like he is bitten by the BUG. The Field Day BUG. 15 meters, mostly CW, K7VBY, W7NAT.
There is Bobby, filling the reporter in on our operation. Jo Ann listens in.
Avril and Sam working the station with the Tri-bander antenna. Probably 20 meters SSB.
You can tell that Dan likes the contacts just made. The nice TenTec didn't hurt either. 75 meters, after a long run of contacts.
Yep, nice radio Roger.
The camp is settling in to making contacts.
Well, it looks like you have it all running smoothly Sam.
What is that thing on Mark's rig?
That is the tri-bander. This allowed Sam some flexibility.
Sam's antenna. We used it for 10, 15 and 20 meters as needed.
Only 30' or so, but it works.
That yellow thing is the wire of the 700' loop. You are looking up over 80' here, with the trees actually quite a ways from the wires. Good shooting Scott.
This antenna wins the prise for the fastest raising. Doug likes his Buddy Pole.
Steve, KE7DLE
The radios at Steve's position.
Which mic is which, Steve?
Nice to have a couple towers up.
Ken, that is KD7BUJ, when you print this right? The paper reporter enjoyed the visit with Ken.
I know, it only takes two to make and log the calls. Another good team. Dan, Nate and Avril.
Eric, K7ARO, joins Roger, K7NTW.
Sam and Eric work at the log for a while.
William looks a lot happier now, right - well, he pulled it off with no querks, A1 performance.
Abe visits the logging central point to check the operation out.
Jim, WA7ZAJ, decides to check out the kitchen area. Jim has been with SARC longer than anyone.
We never succeded in teaching Sam how to handle the radios.

Ken, Sam, and Jim.
The photographer from the paper gets some shots from Sam's station.
Ahhhh, the sights and sounds of the woods. Watch out for that bird Steve.
Chow.
Rare time when Roger has to wait for a call to log.
Sam's station.
The solar station.
Solar close up.
Sam and Avril. Avril worked most of the stations this year. Good going.
