CBD - between September 4th and February 22 earthquakes.
The National Library of New Zealand has commissioned me to create a heritage record of the recovery process in Christchurch.
These images start just after the September earthquake to just before the February eqrthquake and are arranged newest to oldest. This is the area of Christchurch which has the most old, brick multi-level buildings which have suffered major structural damage in the 2 major earthquakes. (September 4, 2010 centered near Hororata & February 22, 2011 centered under the Port Hills within Christchurch city).
Currently, the number of buildings in the city to be demolished is 241, 82 to be partly demolished & 39 to be made safe.
These photos will in time be permanently available from the National Library's Digital Heritage Archive (NDHA).
