Eden Park Balluminaria

Balluminaria! Hosted By: Cincinnati Parks Foundation The Balluminaria is one of the largest tethered hot-air balloon festivals in the country and RippleCards were distributed to many of the attendees. Hot-air balloons are secured around Mirror Lake in Eden Park and at dusk the balloons are lit up from flames used to heat the balloons - causing them to glow. The reflection in the water is equally awesome! Those attending this free event are entertained by ensembles singing and/or playing holiday tunes in addition to an early siting of Santa Claus and a balloon artists making and giving free balloon hats and animals to the kids.

"Notes Left Behind" Nationwide Release - benefitting The Cure Starts Now

RippleCard™ joined the Desserich family to celebrate the nationwide release of "Notes Left Behind" by HarperCollins Publishers with a signing & speaking event at Joseph Beth Booksellers. The first 500 people received a sampling of Graeter's Ice Cream newest & bestselling flavor, Elena's Blueberry Pie, named after the namesake for this book. U.S. proceeds of the book will benefit The Cure Starts Now Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Originally written by Cincinnati parents Brooke & Keith Desserich about their final days with their daughter, Elena, it was meant as a memorial to their youngest daughter, Gracie. Elena was six years old when she lost her battle with brain cancer. Before she left this world, Elena wrote notes of inspiration & hid them around her home – in sock drawers, back packs and between books -- for her mother, father & younger sister, Gracie, to find after she was gone. This story captures Elena’s amazing spirit as well her family’s never-ending love.

District A Street Festival - @ the Ridge Ravilion Featuring 40 Watt, Ne' er Do Well & Nativity CODE

40 Watt was one of many bands performing live at the soon-to-be-renowned "District A" Street Festival in Pleasant Ridge and Kennedy Heights on Saturday, October 10th. Other fun activities at the "District A" Street Festival included: - arts programming at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center, ballet tech cincinnati, and the new Green Corner Studios and Marketplace at Tyne and Montgomery; - an art show and sale at the corner of Ridge and Montgomery roads; - horse-drawn carriages from 1 to 4 p.m; and - much more! Lower Price Hill Community School Fundraiser

Our Mission: The Lower Price Hill Community School (LPHCS) removes barriers to education, provides instructional and guidance services in a supportive and familiar environment, and assists individuals in meeting their educational and employment goals. The Lower Price Hill Community School was founded in 1971 by neighborhood parents and grandparents tired of seeing their children drop out of the formal public school system. What started as small GED instructional classes in a windowless basement has turned into a modern learning facility that encompasses an entire floor of the old St. Michael school building. Our core programs still include one-on-one GED preparation, Adult Basic Literacy, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) tutoring as well as on-site beginning college classes through collaboration with Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

Reggae Run

The 2009 Reggae Run occured on Saturday, October 3, at Ault Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. A 5K run/walk followed by a jammin' party with food, beer, wine and live reggae music by The Ark Band. Proceeds benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Since 1994, the Reggae Run has raised about $900,000 for nonprofit organizations that help children with special needs, including Make-A-Wish. The Reggae Run was established to celebrate the life of Maria Olberding, who was slain while running near Ault Park in 1994. We think that this event captures who Maria was and what she liked - music, running, family, friends, laughter, love and helping others. And we believe that she is with us every year, bringing warm sunshine and amazing sunsets with her.

Angels for a Miracle

This one mile walk raised funds for pediatric cancer research at St.Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). There was a silent auction, live entertainment, and fun. Wendy's Get Together - Kole Miller Foundation

Our little boy Kole who is 5 was diagnosed with DIPG – Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma on Oct 14, 2008. Kole asks “that everyone please pray for his bump to go away and for God to heal him and not to trip anymore.” 20% of all sales generated went to the Kole Miller Foundation.

Michael Cheatham, president and founder of Inspired Solutions & Associates and Jay Gates, CEO of Cincinnati PC Solutions want to embrace this premise and inspire others to do the same.
