Reggae Run
The 2009 Reggae Run occured on Saturday, October 3, at Ault Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. A 5K run/walk followed by a jammin' party with food, beer, wine and live reggae music by The Ark Band. Proceeds benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Since 1994, the Reggae Run has raised about $900,000 for nonprofit organizations that help children with special needs, including Make-A-Wish.
The Reggae Run was established to celebrate the life of Maria Olberding, who was slain while running near Ault Park in 1994. We think that this event captures who Maria was and what she liked - music, running, family, friends, laughter, love and helping others. And we believe that she is with us every year, bringing warm sunshine and amazing sunsets with her.
