Justin Dix starts work on the Big Guys gun
Janine sculpts a hand
Troy wonders how on Earth he got roped into this!
Doesn't look like much now... but wait just a couple of weeks
Troy works out the joints - every part of the 1:1 has to created from scratch
Justin and I have worked together on several projects, he was the art director and SFX lead on Storm Warning. He's shop is Wicked of Oz and they rule!
Uh... not quite. Early head based on the statue that's been out for a while, turns out that this wasn't what Ash was thinking, not to worry, still a few weeks to work it out
Neck Joint being inspected by Troy
Closer but still not there yet
I'm always amazed by this process, the sculpt, the moulding, then the actual pieces that make up the final work. Amazing.
Starting to look the part
I love the back of the beast - to me this a work of art
Moulding, moulding, moulding...
"You want feet with those guts?"
Final moulds - they look lovely
J pops out the chest for the first time from it's mould
Oh dear... he is rather tall isn't he?
Pose was a work in progress right up 'till the end. The guys did a great in getting the perfect mix of imposing and dynamic
YEAH! Final pose is a total winner! Now to paint him up!
Janine is the best in the business - she turned the final work into POPBOT with a killer paint job that gave the bastard real weight and character
Almost there - this was the first time that I saw him with the gun in hand. It made quite the impression
The creator and his handywork! I think this kinda suits J...
Cool!
He's tall - you get a handle on the scale until you stand next to him
Scott Zero regrets commenting on Pop's total lack of booty! He's one to talk!
I can so see this shot in the film! I have to throw a massive thanks to Justin, Troy and Janine for a tremendous job bring POPBOT into our world. Next stop - THE FILM!
