Over the Edge: Woodturning into Sculpture

This is the second exhibition with guest curators Jim Christiansen and Gerrit Van Ness. The exhibit builds on the earlier “Woodturning on the Edge” to follow the trajectory of the studio craft tradition as it transitions into fine art sculptural forms. The work will have been created within the last year or less. It will include a 48 page full-color catalog designed by UI alum Tammy Stowe.

Margot Quan Knight & Sally Graves Machlis

A two-person exhibit featuring photographic and video works by emerging Seattle artist Margot Quan Knight and work created during or inspired by Sally Graves Machlis’ sabbatical leave to Taiwan and elsewhere. Knight is a young artist who will go far as an artist. She has a show opening in Seattle at the new space of the James Harris Gallery along with one of the premier Northwest artists, Gary Hill. Lanny Bergner & Surel Mitchell

Anacortes WA artist Lanny Bergner creates sculptural installations from glass pellets and fibers made of glass and other materials. He will work with people from the community to create his installation for the gallery.
