“Caricatures of Doctors” These are made of Terra cotta clay which has been fired, then painted in a somewhat representational fashion. Slabs of clay are rolled out and often joined to make these hollow forms. One of the works was made by Elaine who suffers from Sickle Cell Anaemia and has many episodes in hospital every year. She experiences a great deal of pain and is often on a morphine drip. She experimented with printing techniques and colours to describe how she felt whilst in pain.
