The set of four was separated and each fully dismantled (shafts stay in place). All components cleaned and rinsed in ultrasonic tanks before pressure drying and circuit testing. Following parts inspection each unit carefully rebuilt, static adjustments built in, the four re-united, visually synchronised and lubricated before fuel test on the finished asssembly.
New choke piston, piston housings polished, new O rings to pilot plugs and all float valve bodies, float levels set, carbs synchronised and lubricated, chewed screws replaced, bowls repositioned. Completed assembly fuel tested and then returned to customer by insured carrier, with a letter detailing the work completed. (Side of bowls 1 and 4 polished (freebie)).
That's the difference: an engineering approach to carburettor OVERHAUL, which incorporates ultrasonic cleaning. To be fair, IKM doesn't claim to do anything other than clean things. A "clean" set of carburettors that do not work at a cost of £160?
