Edgerton St.
Edgerton street was named in honor of Erastus Smith Edgerton, 1816-93, President of the Second National Bank in St. Paul.
Born in New York State, where he worked as a deputy sheriff, moved to St. Paul in 1853. He opened a bank here with money from his father‘s estate, Charles Mackubin was his first partner. He spent the remainder of his life in banking. When he retired he returned to New York City, where he was often seen riding his Kentucky-bred horse in Central Park. Miller Street was renamed Edgerton in 1872. Edgerton marks the ½ section line on the land survey.*
