Synaxis of the Primates of the local Orthodox Churches (Phanar, October 9-12, 2008)
A Synaxis of the Primates of the local Orthodox Churches took place in the Phanar in Constantinople, from October 9-12, 2008, on the occasion of the celebration of the Year 2008 as the Year of Saint Paul and under the presidency of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, primus inter pares of the orthodox bishops. Among them who took part at this meeting: Patriarchs Theodoros of Alexandria, Ignatios of Antioch, Theophilos of Jerusalem and Alexis of Moscow, the Archbishops Chrysostomos of Cyprus, Hieronymos of Athens, Anastasios of Albania, Christopher of Prague, Leo of Carelia and all Finland and Stephanos of Tallinn and all Estonia, as well as representatives of the other autochephalous churhces (Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia and Poland). They concelebrated Divine Liturgy under the presidency of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
