The cemetery was preserved as they were constructing the resort town of Harbour Town, it is now surrounded by hotels and condos. Here is the main entrance to the small cemetery.
Post-Civil war stones are mixed with newer family stones. Small palms are scattered throughout. Possible slave burials are unmarked, there is a lot of empty space, with some broken ceramics and flowers scattered.
In Memory of Wesley Young born Apr 20 1904, died Sept 26, 1940. A ceramic plate is impressed in the gravestone. This is a Gullah-derived tradition, including burial goods for the dead.
